TagBrush Logo

Image
Artist Statement: My tag brush was created by me to easily use in photoshop. I can put it on my artwork or other work I create. It is a representation of me and colors I enjoy. I chose to contrasting colors that I love together. As a child I had a pink backpack with green polka dots. My logo is my initials which I have carried with me my whole life, and so I included my favorite colors along with it. To make my logo different, more unique, and to learn the photo shop brush tools I included negative space and spray paint.

PS 1 HW People Portfolio

Image
The image that I chose from The People's Portfolio was the 'Human Rights Defenders', specifally I chose the photo of Denis Mukwege. He is a gynecologist who is helping fight sexual violence. His photo in the portfolio is a simple headshot of him but when you look at it after reading his story there is a whole other perspective. You can see the empathy and careness in his eyes. During the Netflix documenatry it talks about how "great design simplifies a very complicated world". To me this line stuck out because though it is a short phrase it is impactful. Behind one image of a Doctor Denis Mukwege is a whole story and person who is making a impact on woman.       To some people it may just be a headshot but to woman around the world it is more than that. It is a photograph of an advocate for Woman experiencing sexual violence. He is not only treating Woman who experince this but putting them through thereapy. All while also advocating to make this probl...

PS HW 2

Video 1:  Link to video It starts off exactly like Ai where you create a new file. You also have the ability to customize the template. You also have layers and many adjustment tools. You have a background layer which is locked by default and to unlock it you have to double click. The crop tool allows you to adjust your image depending on how big you want it, so you do not have to photoshop the whole image. On the left-hand side, you have all the brush tools. There is a blur tool, gradient tool, eraser tool, clone stamp tool, and more.  Video 2: Link to video I learned that once you zoom in on your image you can press Q on your keyboard and everything that is highlighted in red will not be in your selected. Then you can select the brush tool or press B on your keyboard to add something to your selected area of your image. Then on the left-hand side you are able to see black and white squares which are your primary and secondary colors. If you have the white box selected,...

Self Portrait Poster

Image
Poster: Original Photo: Inspo Pictures: Artist Statement:  One of my biggest pet peeves is when I am running late for class and people are walking slow and not paying attention. In general, I am a fast-paced mover and so I cannot stand when people are not moving quickly. My inspiration with the road behind me was having the two lanes. The left lane is considered the fast lane, and the right lane is the slow-moving lane. There should be walking lanes on college campuses for people who have places to be! I also like the personal effect of having my self-portrait behind me.

Sketches: Black and White Logo: Color Logos: Inspiration Pictures:  Artist Statement: My name and initials are very important to me. I am named after my parent's sisters. I am also close with my family, so I hold my last name close to my heart. If I had to create a logo to get stamped on my forehead for the rest of my life it would be my initials. I love the color pink growing up and it was the color of my first bedroom. I also grew up with three sisters and we all loved barbie. That is why I chose the pink monochrome for one of my logos. I wanted to keep the monochrome theme going and so I got inspiration from monochrome color wheels.
